Police and medics arrived at the 1800 block of North 27th Street at about 7:13 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, after the parents of a one-month-old newborn requested assistance, according to Philadelphia police.
Medics from the Philadelphia Fire Department took the infant girl to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, where she was declared dead at 7:56 p.m., officials said.
The location was secured, and the Special Victims Unit is conducting the investigation, which is still active and ongoing, according to authorities.
