Man Apprehended For Murder After Allegedly Shooting Girlfriend And Dropping Her Off At Hospital Before Leaving

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s (PGCPD) Homicide Unit has charged a man with the murder of his girlfriend. The suspect is Rogerio Palma, 32, of College Park. He is accused of fatally shooting 24-year-old Brianna Burton of Centreville, Virginia. Palma allegedly dropped off his fiancée at the emergency room of White Oak Medical Center and then departed the facility.

According to the PGCPD, “On April 27, 2025, at approximately 7:20 a.m., Montgomery County Police officers responded to a Silver Spring hospital for the report of a gunshot victim who had been dropped off at the emergency room.” The man who had dropped off the victim then departed the hospital. Burton, the shooting victim, was pronounced dead shortly afterwards. The inquiry revealed that the victim had sustained a gunshot wound in Prince George’s County. The PGPD Homicide Unit took over the case on April 28, 2025.
