Frontier Airlines Cuts Ties with Contractors After Viral Check-In Dispute at RDU

A passenger’s cellphone video has gone viral after he filmed a heated exchange at the Frontier Airlines counter at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). The conflict started when he was unexpectedly charged a $25 fee for checking in with an agent.

The footage shows Frontier staff arguing with the passenger and ultimately refusing to let him check in for his flight to Boston. According to the New York Post, the man had arrived roughly 50 minutes before departure—missing the airline’s one-hour check-in window, which triggers a fee.

Even after he agreed to pay the fee, one of the employees continued to deny him check-in.

A spokesperson for Frontier Airlines confirmed the company is aware of the situation and has been in touch with the customer. The airline also stated that the individuals involved were employed by a third-party contractor and are no longer working on Frontier’s behalf.
