A Moniteau County man arrested with nearly an ounce of methamphetamine was sentenced to prison.
Last year, Wesley Branch of California pleaded guilty to delivering dangerous substances. On Thursday, he was condemned to 15 years in prison and placed in a 120-day program. If he successfully completes the program, he may be eligible for release.
Branch was arrested in November 2023 after deputies from the Moniteau County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force performed a traffic check on Highway 50. During the search of Branch, deputies discovered 27 grams of methamphetamine.
Kyndra Rains of Tipton was driving the vehicle. Deputies observed that she appeared highly frightened when they stopped her and denied a request to check her vehicle.
Deputies dispatched a K9 officer to the location, alerting them to the presence of drugs. A glass smoking pipe discovered in Rains’ possession tested positive for methamphetamines.
