Chicago police are investigating a shooting that left a 41-year-old man dead Thursday night in the city’s Lawndale neighborhood.
The incident occurred around 11:23 p.m. in the 4500 block of West 5th Avenue, when the victim was standing on the sidewalk and became involved in an argument with another guy, according to authorities. The discussion became heated, and the suspect pulled out a revolver and shot the victim twice, wounding him in the hand and leg.
The shooter left the area in a black Jeep. The victim was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital and is listed in fair condition, according to Chicago Fire Department authorities.
There have been no arrests made. Area Four detectives are conducting an investigation.
