A 17-year-old boy was arrested after police said he fired a pellet gun at a woman holding an infant in Dongan Hills.
On May 2, around 7 p.m., someone inside a silver sedan shot a pellet gun, hitting a 42-year-old woman in the back while she held her 2-month-old baby near Jerome Road and Benton Avenue, according to the NYPD.
After the shooting, the sedan drove westbound on Evergreen Avenue.
The woman refused medical treatment at the scene, police reported.
The teenager was caught and charged on May 7 with assault, acting in a manner injurious to a child, harassment, and a violation, according to the NYPD.
The department does not release the names of minors involved in crimes. Authorities had previously asked the public for help finding the suspect.
