Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace said that a Bronx man has been charged with two charges of predatory sexual assault against a kid, a class A felony, and first-degree rape, a class B severe felony, for allegedly raping a kid.
Hakeem Anderson, 32, was arraigned on the indictment Tuesday morning before Westchester County Court Judge Robert Prisco, where he pled not guilty. Anderson is being held without bail at the Westchester County Jail. A temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
DA Cacace said: “The tender age of the victim in this case renders these allegations beyond comprehension. Our office will ensure that she has all the care and support she needs as the criminal process plays out. I am grateful that our law enforcement partners were able to locate the defendant after he fled and return him to face justice in Westchester County.”
The defendant is accused of raping a minor under the age of 11 with whom he was acquainted on two separate occasions last year, in November and December. Following these encounters, Anderson left Westchester County.
Following an investigation, the FBI’s Westchester Safe Streets Task Force and the Yonkers Police Department located the defendant in The Bronx and returned him to the custody of Westchester County.
The Yonkers Police Department and the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office jointly conducted the investigation.
Charlotte Gudis, Senior Assistant District Attorney, is prosecuting the case.
