Hali Johnson, 40, of Columbia, Missouri, has been charged with second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, and armed criminal action after an alleged road rage incident on Saturday.
According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Johnson is accused of ramming her Ford Escape into another vehicle on Primrose Drive. After blocking the victim’s car from escaping, Johnson allegedly exited her vehicle, punched the victim’s windshield, and screamed at the driver.
Court documents describe how three to four men and youths from the other vehicles started punching the victim’s car, and Johnson reportedly pulled out a gun. One victim stated that they saw Johnson holding the weapon during the altercation.
Johnson allegedly admitted to chasing the victim’s vehicle after she believed a kidnapping was taking place, and to punching the windshield after a vehicle backed into her truck.
Johnson remains in Boone County Jail without bond, with an initial court appearance scheduled for Tuesday. This incident raises concerns over escalating road rage violence and the use of firearms in such confrontations.
