A shocking new video captures the moment a group of young offenders — some connected to a violent migrant youth gang — turned on two NYPD officers in Times Square, police confirmed.
The officers intervened when they noticed the group attempting to rob two teenagers Friday evening at the bustling intersection of West 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue, law enforcement sources said.
The chaotic scene, caught on video, shows the young assailants targeting the police officers, crowding them, and even hurling objects like an umbrella and a baseball, authorities reported.

The officers, who were stepping in to stop the robbery, became the focus of the mob’s aggression.
So far, police have arrested several individuals involved in the altercation, including a 12-year-old suspected of being the ringleader. Authorities believe the group is tied to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, specifically a school-aged offshoot known as the Diablos de la 42 (Devils of 42nd Street).
