RALEIGH, N.C. – A Raleigh man is facing multiple charges, including attempted rape and burglary, after police say a woman at a senior apartment complex awoke to find him naked in her room.
The disturbing incident occurred just before midnight on May 16 at a residence on Town Drive. According to police, the woman immediately contacted authorities after discovering the nude intruder in her room. The man fled the scene before officers arrived.
Following an investigation, police identified Avante Cooper, 30, as the suspect. On May 21, officers responded to another call involving Cooper, this time for indecent exposure at two apartment complexes on Stillcrest Way and Tristone Falls. During this encounter, Cooper was reportedly exposing himself in shared public areas.
Police linked Cooper to the earlier break-in and took him into custody. He now faces the following charges:

Cooper remains in custody as the investigation continues.
