Officers on patrol discovered the deceased lying motionless in the traffic lanes near 70th and Western Avenue around 9:23 p.m. on Tuesday. According to the report, witnesses said they observed a speeding silver vehicle strike the victim as it headed north on Western. The driver kept going.

Prosecutors ultimately decided not to prosecute her with DUI.
She has been accused of failing to report a tragic accident. Cops charged her with smuggling alcohol as a driver, failing to exercise necessary care, and failing to moderate speed.
Judge Luciano Panici, Jr., ordered her detention awaiting trial.
