A mother and three children were discovered safe in Missouri after going missing on Thursday.
Michelle Lynn Olszewski, 50, and her three children, ages 8, 10, and 14, were removed from school early and left the state on Wednesday. Her rental car and belongings were discovered at a hotel in Indiana on Thursday, with no other sign of her or her children’s whereabouts since.
After locating Olszewski and her youngest kid in St. Louis, MO, on Saturday, investigators continued their search and eventually found the other two children, all of whom are now in protective custody in Missouri.
According to officials, OCSO investigators were working with the Mishawaka Police Department when they discovered information indicating that Olszewski was mentally unwell at the time of the initial incident and had a history of mental instability.
According to OCSO officials, the family was also traveling with Lambchop, a medium-sized Shiba Inu.
