Man Gets More Than 50 Stitches After Being Slashed By Stranger Outside Tufts Medical Center

John Baglio shows the 10-inch cut on his face during a brutal attack outside Tufts Medical Center in Boston.

“You’re visiting your child one minute, and the next minute you’re fighting for your life,” Baglio told the reporter.

Baglio claims he and his wife, Jennifer, were outdoors for fresh air while seeing their son in the hospital Friday when a stranger approached them.

“Next thing I know, he’s throwing a punch at my husband,” Jennifer added.

Jennifer, an EMT, watched in horror as the man and her husband struggled to the ground and fell into Washington Street.

“It was really startling. In that moment, I didn’t feel like an emergency responder. “I felt like a panicked wife,” Jennifer explained.

She promptly pressed the “call button” on the blue light emergency box next to her.

“Everything went blurry around me, like I couldn’t even see what was around me,” Jennifer reportedly stated. “The only thing clear was that blue light.”

Tufts security responded quickly.

Boston police detained a 45-year-old man and charged him with assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

The location revealed a busted crack pipe.

John had a concussion and required around 50 stitches. He claims the experience had an emotional impact.

“It just feels like it’s really hitting me. Not just how near I was to being killed, but also the anguish,” John explained.
