A 25-year-old man from Jersey City has been charged with murdering his father, according to the Hudson County prosecutor’s office.
Gerard Brooker Jr. was apprehended in New York around 2:40 a.m. Sunday and is facing charges of murder and gun possession, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez confirmed.
Hudson County police identified Brooker Jr. as a person of interest after responding to a shooting incident on Wade Street, located between the 117-121 block, at about 8:15 p.m. on Saturday. They found Gerard Brooker Sr., a resident of Jersey City, suffering from a gunshot wound, Suarez said.
