A Jefferson City man caught earlier this year with more than half an ounce of fentanyl in his vehicle has been sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to three of four charges.
Levenston Hall III was arrested in March along with his passenger, Cameron Jackson of Fulton, while driving on I-70 near the Danville exit in Montgomery County. A deputy pulled Hall over for reckless driving after he nearly caused an accident.
As deputies approached the vehicle, they noted a strong smell of marijuana and observed that Hall appeared extremely nervous. A pat-down revealed Hall was wearing an ankle monitor, was already on probation, and had six outstanding warrants. He was also carrying oxycodone.
On Wednesday, Hall pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, driving with a revoked or suspended license, and failure to signal. In return, the court dropped a charge of operating a vehicle without a bumper.
Hall received five years of supervised probation for the drug and license violations and was fined $50 for the traffic offense.
Jackson faces charges of second-degree drug trafficking, delivery of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. His hearing is scheduled for next month.
During the traffic stop, deputies seized 15.4 grams of fentanyl and nearly five pounds of marijuana.
