A resident of Galt has been arrested in connection with a case involving wallet theft and identity fraud at a local establishment. The victim’s wallet was taken, and the alleged perpetrators subsequently utilized the stolen ATM and credit cards to conduct unauthorized transactions exceeding $1,000 across multiple sites in Elk Grove, as reported by the Galt Police Department.
Utilizing surveillance technology, law enforcement officials were able to identify Desiree Knobloch, a 32-year-old from Galt, who was apprehended the following morning. While other suspects have been identified, they remain at large. The investigation is still active, according to the Galt Police Department.
As noted on the Galt Police Department’s official Facebook page, during her arrest, Knobloch was discovered in possession of stolen property, illegal narcotics, and drug paraphernalia. She is currently being detained at the Sacramento County Main Jail and faces charges including identity theft, petty theft, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
