The Arkansas Department of Corrections is urgently searching for 56-year-old Grant Hardin, a convicted murderer and rapist who escaped from the North Central Unit in Calico Rock on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
Officials report that Grant Hardin, escaped around 3:40 PM from the facility where he had been held since 2017. He is serving a 30-year sentence for first-degree murder, along with an additional sentence for rape. Hardin’s background as a former police chief of Gateway makes his escape especially concerning.
Hardin is described as a 6-foot-tall, 259-pound Caucasian male. The Arkansas Division of Corrections and the Division of Community Corrections are working closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to track him down and follow every lead.
