Kenneth Wayne Beck, a 52-year-old inmate already serving a life sentence without parole for murder, has been charged with first-degree assault, two counts of armed criminal action, and violence to an inmate following a violent incident inside a Missouri prison.
According to court documents, Beck allegedly attacked his cellmate at Jefferson City Correctional Center on September 13, 2023, striking the man multiple times and using a food service tray to hit the victim in the head. The victim suffered multiple fractures and lacerations, as detailed in the probable cause statement.
Beck reportedly admitted to the attack, telling prison officials he “took things too far.”
At the time of the assault, Beck was serving a life sentence without parole for first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He was convicted on January 20, 2009, for a 2006 killing in Montgomery County.
Beck is currently being held at South Central Correctional Center, where he was transferred following the assault. The new charges add to his already extensive criminal record and could result in additional penalties if convicted.
