A Columbia, Missouri man was arrested over the weekend after allegedly brandishing a firearm at police officers while attempting to record a video for SnapChat.
According to court documents, Heath Bishop faces charges of unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. He posted a $5,000 bond on Monday and is scheduled to make an initial court appearance at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 5.
Columbia police say the incident occurred Saturday in the 2200 block of Primrose Drive, where officers were already investigating an unrelated call. Around 11:29 a.m., they observed Bishop holding both a gun and a cellphone. He allegedly raised and manipulated the firearm while standing outside his residence.
An officer ordered Bishop to drop the weapon, which he complied with. Bishop later told police he had no intention of harming anyone and was merely trying to record a SnapChat video.
The investigation is ongoing. No injuries were reported.
