Body of Man Found in Placer County Reservoir After Going Underwater

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office dive team recovered the body believed to be the man who went underwater Thursday evening at Hell Hole Reservoir.

According to PCSO, around 7:45 p.m., two men were fishing from kayaks when one fell into the water. The other man jumped in to help. Both tried to swim to shore, but the second man went under and never resurfaced.

The man who reached shore struggled to find help and only managed to call 911 around 8:45 a.m. the next day.

PCSO expressed their deepest condolences to the family and loved ones affected by the tragedy.
