A St. Louis man died while in the custody of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, two weeks after being apprehended.
Brayan Rayo-Garzon died on April 8 at the Phelps County Jail in Rolla, Missouri.
Rayo-Garzon was born in Colombia and currently lives in St. Louis.
According to ICE, a judge has ordered that he be deported from the United States on June 12, 2024. On March 25, 2025, officers from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department arrested Rayo-Garzon for credit card fraud, after which ICE apprehended him.
At the time of publication, ICE had not issued a report on Rayo-Garzon’s death.
