Jackson Man Sentenced To Prison For Buying Car With Fraudulent Check

The Mississippi Attorney General’s Office sentenced a Jackson man for allegedly submitting a fraudulent cashier’s check to pay for a vehicle.

According to the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, Martez Davis, also known as “Lynch Street Slo,” was sentenced to one count of false pretense and one count of wire fraud.

According to the announcement, Davis willfully used a counterfeit cashier’s check to pay for a vehicle.

Davis was sentenced to ten years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections’ custody on May 2, 2025, with five years served and five years of post-release supervision.

Davis was also sentenced to repay $49,000 in restitution.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama helped in this case.
