Kansas City Man To Spend 30 Years In Jail Following Selling Hundreds Of Pounds Of Drugs

A Kansas City man will serve three decades in jail after being found to have sold hundreds of pounds of narcotics as part of an area drug ring.

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Missouri stated on Tuesday, May 20, that Codi J. Monteer, 38, of Kansas City, Missouri, has been sentenced for his role in the ring.

According to court filings, Monteer pleaded guilty on October 8, 2024, to conspiracy to distribute drugs, maintaining a drug-involved premises, possession of firearms in furtherance of a drug conspiracy, and felon in possession of a firearm.

According to law enforcement officials, Monteer was involved in the operation for almost a year and was responsible for distributing at least 273 pounds of methamphetamine, 1.5 pounds of fentanyl, and 3.5 pounds of heroin.

Members of the Kansas Highway Patrol reported that Monteer once led them on a high-speed chase that reached speeds of around 145 mph. The chase was not over until two of his tires came off the vehicle. The pursuit resulted in the vehicle shedding narcotics.

Investigators discovered that Monteer knew Autumn Dicks, Ian Hazel, They Kelley, Marc Downs, and Jamison Hopson-Stephens. Investigators have already sentenced them for their involvement.

According to law enforcement officials, Monteer was also associated with Davion Williams, Curtis Lewis, Daniel Anderson, and Aaron Dorsey. They have all pleaded guilty and are awaiting punishment.

According to court records, Monteer was sentenced to 30 years in prison without the possibility of parole. No other information has been shared.
