At 11 p.m. on Sunday, law enforcement officers were summoned to a meeting with the Grandview Police Department regarding an ongoing investigation, according to a probable cause statement from the Kansas City Police Department. Officers reported that a moving GMC Terrain fired half a dozen rounds.

A victim in a neighboring parking lot told authorities that he was heading west on I-470 in Kansas City (State of Missouri) when the suspect car joined in behind him and nearly collided with his back bumper. Both vehicles then merged onto I-49 from I-470, with the suspect vehicle approaching the victim at high speed.

A passenger in the suspect vehicle later stated that the victim brake-checked them numerous times before cutting them off as the two merged onto I-49.

The victim informed authorities that when the two vehicles merged onto I-49, he heard six gunshots and a loud bang before the suspect vehicle drove off. He drove off the freeway at the next exit and parked in the parking lot to contact the cops.

Later that day, Grandview Police said they noticed the suspect vehicle and pulled over the driver, identified as Bryant. Before he admitted to firing the gun into the air to scare the victim away, Grandview Police detained him and his passenger.

Harvey has been charged with discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle, attempted first-degree assault, and two counts of armed criminal action. If convicted, he may face a prison sentence of up to 60 years.

A hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20 at 9:30 a.m. Bryant’s $100,000 bond was posted on Thursday, May 15, and he is no longer in custody.
