A bomb threat reported at St. Al’s Church and its neighboring school on Monday resulted in a full evacuation by Jackson Township police. No injuries have been reported, and authorities are treating the situation as a precautionary measure while the investigation continues.
Police evacuated the entire property, clearing staff, students, and visitors from both the church and school grounds. The area is currently closed to the public as emergency personnel work to secure the site.
“We are currently investigating a report of an explosive device at St. Al’s Church and adjoining school, which led to the complete evacuation of the property,” the Jackson Township Police Department said in a statement.
Authorities are advising the public to avoid the area and expect possible traffic delays due to road closures and the presence of emergency vehicles.
“As of now, no one will be allowed admittance to the location,” the police added. “You may experience delays in traffic in the area as a direct result of this investigation.”
