On Monday, the Indian Army reported that the previous night remained largely peaceful across Jammu & Kashmir and along the International Border. No incidents were recorded, making it the first calm night in recent days. Following three intense days of military hostilities, India and Pakistan agreed to halt “military action” and “firing,” according to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, who made the announcement on Saturday (May 10, 2025).

Flight operations to resume at Srinagar airport from May 13

Officials confirmed on Monday (May 12, 2025) that normal flight operations will restart at Srinagar International Airport beginning May 13.

This development comes after the Airports Authority of India announced the resumption of civilian flights at 32 airports that were temporarily closed due to the India and Pakistan  military standoff.

In response to the crisis, aviation authorities, including the Airports Authority of India, had issued several Notices to Airmen (NOTAM), closing airports across northern and western India.

“The aerodrome closure NOTAM has been revoked, and Srinagar airport is ready to handle flight operations,” an official stated on Monday.

Airlines will begin normal service from Tuesday (May 13, 2025).

‘This isn’t your Bollywood movie’; diplomacy comes first, says ex-Army Chief Naravane

Former Indian Army Chief General Manoj Naravane criticized those questioning the suspension of hostilities between India and Pakistan, stressing that war isn’t romantic or cinematic.

Speaking at an event in Pune on Sunday (May 11, 2025), General Naravane stated that while he would follow orders to go to war, he prioritizes diplomacy.

“War isn’t romantic. It’s not your Bollywood movie. It’s very serious business. Violence should be the last resort, which is why our Prime Minister said this is not an era of war. Though unwise people may force war on us, we should never celebrate it,” he said.
