Police arrested a 30-year-old man for murder after discovering a body inside an apartment in east Bakersfield.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, officers responded around 5:13 a.m. on Monday, June 2, 2025, to reports of a body found in an apartment on the 400 block of South Williams Street.
Detectives arrived shortly after and took over the investigation.
Through their work, police confirmed the individual had been murdered.
Authorities executed search warrants during the investigation. Later that day, police arrested 30-year-old Jason Garibay. He was booked on murder and related charges.
