Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Keion Alston in Newark on Saturday afternoon, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
The shooting occurred just after 5 p.m. on Harding Terrace, a residential street located a few blocks west of Weequahic Park in the city’s South Ward.
Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stevens II’s spokesperson, Carmen Martin, confirmed the victim’s identity but said no further details were available at this time.
“It is an active and ongoing investigation,” Martin said.
