Clayton, Englewood and Union to hold celebration

LOCAL — It’s a banner year for the Northmont area. The cities of Clayton and Union are celebrating bicentennial anniversaries in 2016, and Englewood is marking its 175th year.

The three Cities have come together with the Randolph Township Historical Society to celebrate these milestones. A joint, free celebration will be held on July 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Meadowbrook at Clayton, 6001 Salem Ave., Clayton. Residents are urged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to the event.

“I encourage everyone to come out and support the Historical Society and communities and have a good time,” said Linda Bryan of Englewood.

The Tri-City Anniversary will feature an exhibit by the Randolph Township Historical Society and displays by local businesses. The event will also include a golf scramble, corn hole tournament, putting contest, live band, kids’ games by Happy Corner Church, Knocker Ball from Englewood Fun Center, a Bounce House, Live Music by Rock It 88 and Megan Osman, food & drinks from Bella Sorella Pizza, Heritage Events Hot Dogs and Burgers, Kettle Corn, and JD’s Old Fashioned Frozen Custard. Don’t miss this free community event.

The two-person team golf scramble will begin at 12:30 p.m. and will feature prizes for best and worst scores. Cost is $55 per team. Fees include 9 holes of golf with cart and prizes. To register, send name, phone number, and email address for both golfers with payment to Meadowbrook at Clayton, Tri-City Golf Scramble, 6001 Salem Ave. Clayton, OH 45315.
