ENGLEWOOD — The 43rd annual Englewood Art Festival will be held under the trees at Centennial Park, 321 Union Boulevard August 13 and 14. Festival hours are 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Festivities begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, August 13 with the 27th annual 5KClassic run. Over 200 runners are expected for this event. The course is a flat, fast route through residential areas with many right turns and one incline followed by a small downhill. The start/finish line is on Union Boulevard near Overla Boulevard. Pre-race day registration entry is $20 with T-shirt, or $10 without. Entrants wanting shirts must register before July 31. Race day registration is $12 (no shirt) and begins at 7 a.m. and ends at 7:45 a.m. at Kindred Funeral Home, 400 Union Blvd.
Extra shirts will be sold on race day for $15 first come, first served. Awards will be given to the top overall runner, the top three men and women, and for various age group winners from age 10 and under to 60 plus immediately following the race. A popular Sunday festival event is the 12th annual Cruise-In and Charity Auction with E/Rider car, truck, and bike show at Centennial Park, with registration running from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The $10 registration fee is payable at the gate. The first 100 registered to bring a new toy will receive a free T-shirt.
The show, auction, and awards will conclude at 4 p.m. Auto related donations will be accepted for the auction. All proceeds will be donated to Dayton Children’s Hospital.
