ENGLEWOOD — The June recipient of the City Beautiful Award is Alma Kemper of 103 Herr Street. She was chosen by the Arts & Festival Committee in memory of her husband and our colleague and former Englewood Mayor, Edward Kemper.
Alma and Ed were married for 48 years. The pride and love of their yard, home and community has been evident throughout the 42 years living in Englewood. They raised three sons and have eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Alma’s love of gardening is shared with family and friends. Her yard flourishes with color and beautiful landscaping throughout the summer. Alma truly has a green thumb which is evident by the meticulous work she does to keep her yard and gardens looking fabulous.
The Englewood Festival and Arts Commission will select a winner each month to be recognized during the spring and summer.
