CLAYTON — City council will hold a special meeting Thursday, March 24 at 7 p.m. at the Janice Ward Center, 265 East Salem Street to obtain residents’ interest and to discuss the feasibility of extending sanitary sewer and water services to properties located in the old Village of Clayton.
“All of the property owners in the Old Village who have been identified as part of the sanitary sewer discussion will have been contacted,” said City Manager Rick Rose. “This is a very important meeting. The main intent is for the folks that are going to be impacted by the decision of whether or not the sanitary sewer project should go forward or not can provide input.”
Residents in the Old Village have wells and septic systems. If residents show enough interest in having sewer and water extended those residences could then be connected to the county sewer and water system.
Council will also have two resolutions on the agenda the same evening not related to the water and sewer issue. One resolution would potentially authorize the city manager to enter into an agreement with Medicount Management for Emergency Medical Services billing.
A second resolution would authorize the city manager to accept the proposal of, and enter an agreement with Heritage Event and Catering for catering and event management services at Meadowbrook at Clayton for 2016.
