ENGLEWOOD — An 89-year-old man failed to yield the right-of-way while pulling out of a business parking lot in the 300 block of S. Main Street in Englewood shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday.
The Chevrolet Impala he was driving was struck broadside in the northbound lane by a Hyundai SUV and sent his vehicle across Main Street into the southbound lanes of travel with the rear wheels forced over the curb. Englewood Fire Department personnel had to cut the vehicle open in order to extract the driver. He was then transported to the hospital for treatment.
