“Our defense was pretty solid and our hitting is starting to come around a little bit,” Harlow noted. “We had timely hitting, that’s for sure. We were able to play a little small ball. It was really a great trip. The weather was great and we won four games by one run and another with a 3 run homer in the bottom of the seventh which made for some exciting games.”

Unlike past years when the team had to dodge some major rain storms, this year’s Florida trip featured perfect weather while back in Ohio everyone suffered with rain, snow and frigid temperatures.

“Just about every year we time that weather out,” Harlow chuckled. “We go down there and you guys have bad weather up here. This year was by far the best weather we’ve ever had down there. We’ve typically hit a lot of storms, especially on the trip down. This year when we got to Florida everybody told us that we got there just at the right time and that we just missed some big storms. We had terrific play and terrific weather. It’s just a thrill to see the kids hang in there every game with a different kids coming through in the clutch in every game.”
