DAYTON — Gudorf Law Group, LLC announced today that Managing Attorney Ted Gudorf has accepted a 3-year position on the Life Essentials Board of Directors.
Life Essentials is a 501 (c) (3) organization which focuses on helping adults with mental illness by providing advocacy services so these vulnerable individuals have a greater quality of life. For instance, the Guardianship program provides help for those who do not have family willing or capable of making sound decisions for them.
The Guardianship Angel Volunteers program trains adult volunteers to be friendly visitors who monitor the well-being, health and safety of adults under guardianship during monthly visits. The CHUMS program is designed to help seniors with mental illnesses to learn the skills necessary to maintain their independence and take back control of their lives.
“While our law firm provides estate planning and tax advisory services to some of the wealthiest families in the greater Dayton area, I thought it important for us to also contribute to the most vulnerable,” said Gudorf.
Gudorf is no stranger to helping the less fortunate. He is a Founding Trustee of the Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project (GDVLP). The GDVLP has provided more than $14 million in donated legal services since its inception in 1988.
Gudorf has the distinction of being the first attorney in Ohio to obtain a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) in estate planning and elder law. He is one of only 152 Ohio State Bar Association Board Certified Specialists in estate planning, trust and probate law. He has repeatedly been named an Ohio Super Lawyer in the category of estate planning, trust and probate law and has a Martindale Hubbell AV Preeminent rating.
Gudorf is a native of Minster, Ohio and is a graduate of Wright State University (honors) and the University of Dayton School of Law.
