WEST MILTON — Jim and Tracy Sarver of Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home in West Milton are pleased to announce the ground breaking of a new addition to the funeral home, located at 284 N. Miami Street.
“I would like to sincerely thank the 600-plus community members who returned surveys last year. Your responses helped determine the scope of this project,” Jim Sarver said.
The 1500-square foot addition and upgrade of the existing funeral home will provide more seating for guests, a larger lobby area, fully handicap-accessible restrooms, a special “kid-friendly” area, and a large gathering space for meals and receptions. The project is expected to be completed in early December 2016 and will allow easier access for visitors, with the entire home on one level and completely handicap-accessible. The Hale House, which is Hale-Sarver’s complimentary guest house, is scheduled to be updated in the future.
Hale-Sarver is a family-owned funeral home with its fifth generation of funeral directors serving the area. The tradition began with Jim’s great-grandfather Roy Hale, grandparents Ray and Marion Harlacher, parents Carl and Rachel Ann, and continues today with Jim and his son Brian Sarver. And pictured, a possible sixth generation, with three of Jim and Tracy’s ten grandchildren, Claire, Allie and Grant.
It is truly a family project, with Jim’s son-in-law Matt Hibner (not pictured) of Garmann Miller in Minster serving as architect. The Sarver family is looking forward to sharing the new facility with the community in December. RCS Division of Bruns is the General Contractor, and Jeff Paulus of West Milton will be the finish carpenter.
