CLAYTON — Salem Church of God sent 800 volunteers into the Dayton area on July 24 to tackle 50 projects during its “Love Does Sunday.”
An estimated 2,100 hours were donated by members of the Clayton congregation to diverse tasks.
“Love Does is a statement and a reminder,” said Kyle Hayes, Salem’s outreach pastor. “It’s a reminder to ourselves who we are, and a statement to community members that we are here for them.”
Teams served at Friendship Village, Dayton Gospel Mission, the Northmont Wee Bolts football facility, Fort McKinley United Methodist Church, private homes and elsewhere. Another team purchased gasoline for drivers.
