DAYTON — See Burt, the Banks children, a crowd of singing and dancing chimney sweeps and everyone’s favorite magical nanny bring the beloved Walt Disney film Mary Poppins to life on stage on January 14 through January 17, 2016.
Your favorite songs, including ‘Supercalifragilisticexpedalidocious,’ ‘Chim Chim Cher-ee,’ ‘Feed The Birds’ and many more are all reimagined as only Muse Machine can.
Students from 70 local schools have been rehearsing for the production since mid-October, along with countless parent and community volunteers. Amongst the rising young stars in the cast, crew and orchestra of Mary Poppins are Sydney Gehron, Alec Glass, Steven Greenwalt, Cydnie LaRoe, Arabella McDonald and Jamey Paul of Englewood.
Building on the successes of more than 30 years, the Muse musical provides an opportunity for students from rural, urban and suburban communities from across the Greater Miami Valley to work cooperatively. According to producer Douglas Merk, approximately 150 singers, dancers, musicians and crew members will comprise this production and receive pre-professional training from internationally-experienced artists, including director Joe Deer, choreographer Lula Elzy, music director Claude Thomas and vocal director Carol Chatfield.
