Northmont area police reports

The following information has been provided by Northmont area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Friday, Dec. 4

Clay Township

Report 15-2985-12: Shawn E. Duke, 40, of Brookville, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation. Duke was taken into custody and transported to the county jail.

Report 15-2980-12: Police responded to the 6800 block of Brookville Salem Road on the report of a resident in a back yard attempting to separate three of her dogs that were fighting each other. A second officer arrived and the dogs were separated and secured with the assistance of the owner. Officers discovered there were four unlicensed German shepherds on the property. Nancy M. Hamilton, 49, was issued four citations for failure to license dogs.

Tuesday, Dec. 8

City of Clayton

Report 15-2301: Police responded to the 9100 block of N. Main Street on the report of a subject banging on a rear window. The suspect was described as a white male with bloody hands. Englewood and Clayton officers had been searching the area for a felony domestic violence suspect who had fled the scene in Englewood and was believed to be armed with a handgun. When Clayton officers arrived at the home in the 9100 block of N. Main Street officers found a rear door to the garage ajar. Upon searching the garage police found a bloody cell phone on the floor near the rear door. Police also found blood on the door handle of garage door that leads into the residence.

Report 15-2303: Burglary was investigated in the 100 block of Copperfield Dr. A resident reported that someone broke into the enclosed porch and left blood droplets on the chair cushion, floor, cement porch, and on the screen door. The victim did not hear or see anyone and nothing was missing. A neighbor had called to advise that she had called police to report that someone was knocking on doors. Police found the screen door to the porch broken and hanging off the door frame. Police observed smears of blood on the screen door. The rear door to the residence had not been disturbed. Police tracked blood droplets from the porch to the address of the neighbor who had called police to report someone knocking on doors. Police also found unknown tracks in the grass and on the road pavement and found traces of blood on a few driveways and behind a few residences near the back doorways.

City of Englewood

Report 15-067307: William J. Sparks, 27, of Troy, was charged with assault following a domestic incident at the Clarion Inn. He was issued a court summons and transported to Good Samaritan North Emergency Room for treatment of injuries.

Report 15-067500: Blake J. Johnson, 25, of Trotwood, was charged with resisting arrest and was arrested for two warrants; one through Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for a drug trafficking case and the other warrant for probation violation from an assault case through Vandalia Municipal Court. Johnson was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Clay Township

Report 15-3017-12: John A. Mayl, 38, of Brookville, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear for a pre-trial hearing for operating a vehicle intoxicated. Mayl was taken into custody and transported to the county jail.

Wednesday, Dec. 9

City of Clayton

Report 15-2311: While on patrol on Hoke Road an officer spotted a vehicle being driven by a wanted subject. Lindsey T. Bolton, 27, of Arcanum, was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments (syringe) and was arrested on a warrant for possession of heroin and a warrant for felony theft. Bolton was transported to the county jail.

City of Englewood

Report 15-067505: Sara A. McDaniel, 26, of Laura, was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated after she was found passed out in a vehicle at Bolts Sports Café. She was transported to the county jail.

Thursday, Dec. 10

City of Englewood

Report 15-067738: Brittany A. Didier, 23, of Laura, was charged with driving while under the influence and marked lanes of travel. She was issued a court summons and released to a sober driver.

Report 15-067842: Joshua S. Ankrom, 37, of Fairborn, was charged with theft at Wal-Mart. He was transported to the county jail.

Report 15-067851: Matthew D. Melton, 26, of Dayton 45417, was charged with theft and possessing criminal tools at Wal-Mart. He was transported to the county jail.

Report 15-067869: Gary L. Powell, 58, of Dayton 45417, was charged with theft at Wal-Mart. He was transported to the county jail.

Friday, Dec. 11

City of Clayton

Report 15-2334: While on patrol on State Route 49 an officer pulled a vehicle over for speeding. After approaching the vehicle the officer detected the aroma of fresh unsmoked marijuana inside the vehicle. Upon checking all three occupants of the vehicle all three were found to have warrants. Police found .38 caliber shell casings in the vehicle and located a .38 caliber handgun and a bag of marijuana in the center console. Beneath the handgun police found a digital scale and found a box of plastic bags in the glove box along with a box of .38 caliber bullets. Davonte D. Garner, 22, of Trotwood, was charged with possession of drugs, possessing drug paraphernalia, driving under financial responsibility act suspension, speeding and was arrested on an active warrant. Kevontae D. Arrington, 19, of Trotwood, was charged with having weapons under disability, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon and was arrested on a felony warrant issued by Montgomery County West Division Court. Broderick K. Sewell, 20, of Trotwood, was arrested on a warrant issued by Trotwood Police. Sewell was released to Trotwood Police and transported to the county jail. Garner and Arrington were also transported to the county jail.

City of Englewood

Report 15-068138: Unknown subjects stole two flood lights from the front yard of a residence in the 200 block of Eller Ave.

Report 15-068146: Police were dispatched to BP gas station on the report of two subjects fighting in the parking lot. David B. Chaffin, 28, of Dayton 45414, was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated, issued a court summons and released to a sober driver. The second subject, Larry M. Hall, 28, of Dayton 45403, was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated. Hall was taken into custody and transported to the county jail.

Sunday, Dec. 13

City of Englewood

Report 15-068487: Danielle R. Hicks, 32, of Dayton 45417, was charged with theft at Wal-Mart and transported to the county jail.

Report 15-068497: Police responded to Good Samaritan North Hospital on the report of disorderly patient who was upset that a doctor would not prescribe a narcotic for pain. The female subject was refusing to leave and was swearing, kicking and spitting at hospital staff. Upon arrival police found hospital staff trying to place arm and leg restraints on the female as she twisted and bucked resisting their efforts. Rasha M. Pugh, 36, of Dayton 45414, was charged with disorderly conduct and was criminally trespassed from the premises. She was transported to the county jail.

Report 15-068525: Misti M. Blankenship, 48, of Lewisburg, was charged with theft at Wal-Mart. She was issued a court summons.
