ENGLEWOOD — Rookwood Properties purchased the former ‘The Vineyards of Englewood’ apartment community, now named ‘The Vineyards’ one year ago, October 1, 2014 located on Union Blvd.

The Vineyards is the first Englewood (northern) community for Rookwood. Other communities are located in the Cincinnati area and now Rookwood have broadened out to one Louisville, Kentucky property. With the purchase, a longtime employee, Jennifer Knoth, agreed to grow with Rookwood as The Vineyards property manager.

Rookwood Properties is a family business that began in the 1950s. Rookwood owns about 1,500 apartment units and dozens of other properties in the office, retail and industrial sectors.

With the purchase of The Vineyards, many things have taken place around the community. Where work is still taking place, a lot has happened over the past year. A new parking lot was installed, all apartments have new sliding energy efficient patio doors, all balconies have been painted, new shutters are being put onto the buildings, new entry ways including the installation of pillars and entry doors with modern painting flair, new drainage system to avoid spillage onto the sidewalks and new dumpster corrals. The newest addition to The Vineyards is the purchase of the vacant land that sits adjacent to the property.

The Vineyards has 96 apartments all 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom homes. Huge transformations have taken place over a year. To date, 25 of the apartments have been upgraded to a Designer home. These changes include new carpet, all new kitchens with stainless-steel appliances, new modern lighting, and new bathroom including ceramic tile with all new fixtures and a spacious new walk-in closet in the master bedroom.

The common hallways are in the process of being painted, installing new handrails for the stairs, new lighting and new carpet.

“There’s always a new project going on,” says Property Manager, Jennifer Knoth. “It’s great to see that Rookwood really thrives on detail. I am also a resident of Englewood and it’s remarkable to see this kind of growth.”
