Northmont area police reports

The following information has been provided by Northmont area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Monday, Aug. 31

City of Englewood

Report 15-047234: Mandell Da’Quan Sims, 18, of Trotwood, was charged with theft at Wal-Mart. He was issued a court summons and released.

Report 15-047254: Nathaniel C. Bruggeman, 36, of Englewood, was charged with driving while under the influence and speeding. He registered at .192 percent on a breath intoxilyzer test. He was issued a court summons and released to a sober driver.

Report 15-047350: A 15-year-old male was charged with theft. Charges were forwarded to Montgomery County Juvenile Court.

Tuesday, Sept. 1

City of Englewood

Report 15-047454: Steven W. Augusten, 42, of Englewood, was charged with driving while under the influence and marked lanes of travel. He was issued a court summons and released to a sober driver.

Report 15-047607: Douglas K. Vanderpool, 20, of Dayton 45415, was charged with theft at Wal-Mart. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Wednesday, Sept. 2

City of Englewood

Report 15-047802: A 17-year-old male was charged with resisting arrest, possession of drugs, and criminal damaging/endangering. He was transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center.

City of Union

Report 15-047794: Police responded to 126 Lexington Farm Road on the report of an abandoned animal. Neighbors stated that the residents had moved out about three weeks ago and had left their dog behind. Police looked through the living room window and saw a Chihuahua inside. Officers were able enter the residence through an unlocked rear window. The dog was lured into a dog carrier found inside the home. The dog was transported to police headquarters where it was given food and water. The dog was then transported to the Animal Resource Center and released to a resource center officer.

Clay Township

Report 15-2155-09: Jeremy G. Clark, 23, of Brookville, was charged with violating a protection order. Charges were forwarded to Western Division Court.

Thursday, Sept. 3

City of Englewood

Report 15-047905: Unknown subjects stole a 3,000 watt Honda generator from the bed of a truck parked in the lot of Best Western. The victim, who is a contractor working on the Interstate 70 widening project, said the generator was secured to the truck bed and would have to have been cut off by the suspects in order to remove it.

City of Union

Report 15-047945: Police responded to Zinfandel Drive on the report of a disorderly subject refusing to leave. Dale H. Howard, 60, of Clayton 45315, was charged with aggravated menacing. Charges were forwarded to Vandalia Municipal Court.

Clay Township

Report 15-2164-09: Lindsey K. Fultz, 26, of Verona, and Emily G. Traud, 22, of Dayton 45431, were both arrested on active warrants. Fultz escaped from a police cruiser and attempted to run into a nearby wooded area before being apprehended. Officers had to use a Taser to subdue her. She was also charged with escape and resisting arrest. Fultz and Traud were taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Friday, Sept. 4

Report 15-048207: Identity fraud was reported on Venetian Way. The victim stated she received a credit card statement from Tractor Supply Company in White Lakes, Michigan for an amount of $3,526. She stated she did not open a credit card account or purchase anything from White Lakes, MI.

Report 15-048176: Menacing related to a domestic incident was reported on Vanessa Court.

Saturday, Sept. 5

City of Englewood

Report 15-048453: Crystal L. Gibson, 37, of Dayton 45405, and Lisa M. Gibson, 36, of West Milton, were each charged with theft at Wal-Mart. Both were transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

City of Union

Report 15-048338: Unknown subjects damaged a concrete trash can in Community Park.

Report 15-048289: Police responded to the 200 block of Sweet Potato Ridge Road on the report of a stabbing. A male subject police are well familiar with stated he had been jumped, hit with a baseball bat and stabbed with a sharp object near his right elbow. He refused to say who did it because they would come back and kill him if he did.

Sunday, Sept. 6

City of Englewood

Report 15-048492: Ashley N. Snyder, 29, of Dayton 45403, was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated in the 300 block of Magnolia Dr. She was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 15-048629: The theft of prescription medication from an employee’s purse was reported at Ponderosa. The medication stolen was about 20, Narco tablets. Narco is 5mg hydrocodone/325 mg acetaminophen. Hydrocodone is a schedule II drug, making the theft a Felony of the 4th degree.

Clay Township

Report 15-2198-09: Police responded to the intersection of Clayshire and Upper Lewisburg-Salem roads on the report of an accident and found a vehicle that had struck a power pole. The electrical lines were down posing a hazard. The driver fled the scene on foot and was later apprehended by a Brookville officer. Brian D. Coody, 36, of Brookville, was charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated and failure to maintain reasonable control. He was transported to Grandview Hospital for treatment and issued a court summons.

Clay Township

Report 15-2201-09: Steven J. Hirst, 33, of Pennville, IN, was charged with possessing drug abuse instruments, illegal use of drug paraphernalia, possession of drugs, and possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia. Ashley Sebastian Merry, 34, of Portland, IN, was arrested on a warrant out of Montgomery County for failure to appear. Hirst and Merry were both transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Tuesday, Sept. 8

City of Union

Report 15-048912: Unknown subjects stole a Huffy BMX-style boy’s bike from the front porch of a residence in the 100 block of S. Montgomery St.
