Police reports from Northmont area law enforcement agencies

The following information has been provided by Northmont area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuesday, June 7

City of Union

Report 16-032705: Margaret Morelock, 41, of Dayton 45404, was charged with misuse of a credit card. She was issued a court summons.

Saturday, June 18

Clay Township

Report 16-1652-06: Burglary was reported in the 10500 block of Dayton-Greenville Pike. A 55-inch Samsung TV and a Compaq notebook laptop computer were stolen. The house was unlocked at the time of the burglary.

Monday, July 11

City of Englewood

Report 16-039270: Bobby Lee Clifford, 40, of Dayton 45404, was charged with theft at Wal-Mart. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 16-039297: The theft of prescription medication from a residence was reported in the 500 block of W. Wenger Rd. The victim stated that her three adult children who live with her had several friends over throughout the weekend and believes one of them got into her purse and removed 60 Xanax and 60 Adderall pills.

Tuesday, July 12

City of Englewood

Report 16-039492: Kimberly A. Wilhelm, 30, of Eaton, was arrested on an active warrant at the Englewood Inn. After she was transported to the Montgomery County Jail a hypodermic needle was found concealed inside of her clothing. She was also charged with possessing drug paraphernalia.

Wednesday, July 13

City of Clayton

Report 16-1624: Burglary was reported in the 7000 block of Kimmel Road. Unknown subjects broke out a rear window and entered the residence. Police observed tire tracks in the backyard leading up to the rear window that was broken. The back door had a window pane broken and key to the deadbolt lock that had been hanging on a hook was found in the interior lock. The owner of the home said it appeared as though the suspects had gone through every room in the house looking for items to steal. A list of missing items will be provided to police after an inventory of the home can be performed.

City of Englewood

Report 16-039691: Cody Lee Sinclair, 26, of Gallia, was charged with theft at Wal-Mart and was arrested on an outstanding no bond warrant for his arrest for non-support of child/children through the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office. Sinclair was trespassed from the Wal-Mart property and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

City of Union

Report 16-039556: Police responded to a heroin overdose in the 100 block of S. Main St. Jenna M. Jaynes, 22, of Union, was charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication. She was issued a court summons.

Clay Township

Report 16-1928-07: Zachary N. Tipton, 19, of Miamisburg, was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, driving under suspension and possession of marijuana. He was issued a court summons and released. The juvenile was released to his mother and advised a court summons would be arriving in the mail for possession of marijuana.

Report 16-1935-07: Police responded to the 10700 block of Preble County Line Road on the report of a car falling off a jack and onto a male subject. Upon arrival a female subject was jacking the car up off the victim using a floor jack. When the male victim was able to breathe police stopped the female from jacking the car up any higher for fear the jack might fail. Verona Fire Department arrived and took over the extrication of the victim. He was transported to the Verona baseball field where a CareFlight helicopter transported him to Miami Valley Hospital.

Thursday, July 14

City of Englewood

Report 16-039773: Police responded to a crash involving a car and a semi at Hoke Road at the Interstate 70 exit. The female driver of the car went over the guardrail and ran down the hill. Another officer located her and brought her back to the scene. During questioning she provided a name that was registered to a resident of Alabama. After failing a field sobriety test she revealed her real identity. Carolyn M. Rife, 31, of Dayton 45403, was charged with driving under the influence, obstructing official business, driving under suspension, failure to obey a traffic control device and was arrested on an active felony warrant out of West Carrollton. She was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 16-039804: Anthony A. Jadwin, 27, of Englewood, was charged with domestic violence and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 16-039851: Two unknown white females entered Do-It-Best Hardware that store employees had dealt with the week before when one of the females inquired about a red wallet she stated she may have lost in the store. After the females left the store this week an employee found a pawn receipt on the floor where one of the females had been standing. A review of surveillance camera footage revealed that a Bosch battery charger and a Milwaukee battery pack as well as other merchandise was stolen. Using the name on the pawn receipt police pulled up a possible suspect’s photo. The store employee was able to positively identify the suspect from the photo. Police then contacted the pawn shop manager who stated the suspect had pawned a Bosch battery charger and Milwaukee battery that afternoon. Police had the pawn shop place a hold on the items. Amy L. Bowers, 38, of Dayton 45414, was charged with theft. Charges were forwarded to Vandalia Municipal Court.

City of Union

Report 16-039850: Unknown subjects shattered the passenger side rear window on a vehicle parked in the lot at Proctor & Gamble.

Report 16-039924: Christopher R. Heizer, 43, of Vandalia, was charged with driving under the influence, refusal to take a breath test with a prior DUI, seat belt required and failure to control following a traffic accident in the 200 block of Triple Crown. He was issued a court summons and released to a sober driver.

Report 16-039882: A domestic dispute was investigated on Lutz Drive. No charges were filed.

Friday, July 15

City of Englewood

Report 16-039958: Police responded to the Vineyards Apartments on the report of suspicious vehicle in the lot that had its driver’s side door open and the engine running for approximately one hour. Upon arrival a vehicle was found matching the description parked diagonally in a lane blocking other vehicles from being able to pass. The officer detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. A male was found asleep behind the wheel. After waking the male and questioned as to what he was doing, he sat up, placed his hands on the steering wheel and stated, “Looking for a parking space.” After failing a series of field sobriety tests he was searched and found to be carrying $1,273 in cash. While searching his vehicle police found a plastic bag containing marijuana and two others containing a white powdery substance. Jason J. Heath, 31, of Dayton 45417, was charged with having physical control of a motor vehicle while intoxicated and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 16-040048: Darlene A. Session, 49, of Dayton 45417, was charged with theft at Wal-Mart and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 16-040100: Kenneth D. Walker, 53, of Englewood, was charged with theft at Wal-Mart and criminally trespassed from the property. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 16-040121: Police responded to Wal-Mart on the report of a theft. A female customer reported using the self-checkout and requested $100 cash back after paying by credit card. She completed her transaction but forgot to take the money from the cash dispenser. A heavy set white male with brown hair and a goatee wearing a black shirt and khaki shorts walked up to the register and purchased two paint brushes and took the money from the machine, placed it in his pocket and exited the store.

Report 16-040125: Police responded to Meijer on the report of an attempted theft. A male subject exited the store with two DVD players, numerous DVDs, bottled water and Gatorade. When confronted the male let go of the shopping cart and ran across Main Street toward McDonald’s. Police searched the area but could not locate the suspect.

Saturday, July 16

City of Englewood

Report 16-040317: Steven L. Fowler, 44, of Dayton 45406, was charged with theft and obstructing official business at Wal-Mart. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

City of Union

Report 16-040334: Rebecca M. Flood, 22, of West Milton, was charged with driving under the influence and marked lanes of travel. She was issued a court summons and released to her boyfriend.

Sunday, July 17

City of Union

Report 16-040369: A missing person report was taken in the 100 block of Aleshire Farm Circle.

Clay Township

Report 16-1978-07: A missing person report was filed in the 8900 block of Wellbaum Road. The person was later located at a motel in St. Mary’s.

Monday, July 18

Clay Township

Report 16-1982-07: A wallet was found by patrons watching a movie at Melody 49 Drive-In and turned over to police. The officer found an insurance card in the wallet, tracked down the owner and returned the wallet to him at his residence.
