Northmont area police reports

The following information has been provided by Northmont area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Wednesday, Nov. 7

Clay Township

Report 18-2956-11: A township resident reported that an unknown subject had opened three debit card accounts in his name at different financial institutions, two of which are located in Cincinnati. The victim stated he did not apply for, nor opened any of the accounts.

Thursday, Nov. 8

Clay Township

Report CL18-2962-11: Police responded to Shoreline Road on an overdose of prescription medication. The victim was transported by Brookville Medic 77 to Miami Valley Hospital North.

Monday, Nov. 12

City of Englewood

Report 18-089100: A quick change artist was reported at McDonald’s on N. Main St. A young black male and older black female asked a cashier for change for a $50 bill requesting two twenty dollar bills and one ten. After receiving the change as requested he asked to have the other bills broken for smaller denominations over and over again in rapid fashion. The manager saw what was going on and stepped in and told the cashier to just give the $50 bill back. Later it was discovered the cash drawer was $100 short. Management believes the pair will return to hit other area businesses.

Report 18-089126: Tonica L. Dudley, 27, of Dayton 45417, was charged with theft at Meijer. She was issued a court summons and released.

Tuesday, Nov. 13

City of Englewood

Report 18-089463: Rebecca Renee Scott, 28, of Englewood, was charged with theft at Walmart. She was issued a court summons and released.

Thursday, Nov. 15

City of Clayton

Report CL18-2084: John Favors, 32, of Dayton 45417, was charged with failure to reinstate driver’s license and was arrested on a warrant. He was also issued a written warning for two headlights required. Favors was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Friday, Nov. 16

City of Englewood

Report 18-090362: Victoria L. Buck, 27, of Dayton 45417, was charged with theft at Walmart and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Report 18-090368: An unknown subject broke the passenger side window on a vehicle parked in the lot of the Kleptz YMCA. The victim had placed her purse in the vehicle underneath a bag. The bag had been disturbed but the suspect had possibly been scared away as her purse was not taken.

Saturday, Nov. 17

City of Clayton

Report CL18-2090: An unlocked 2005 Chevrolet Silverado with an extra set of keys inside the center console was stolen from the 4000 block of Satellite Dr. The truck also contained a large amount of change, various tools, a checkbook, various bank information, a title to a 1965 Ford Mustang, a vacuum and other miscellaneous items.

City of Englewood

Report 18-090785: Meghan Marie Katelyn Hasty, 29, of Englewood, was charged with theft at Meijer and was arrested on a warrant issued by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on a charge of larceny. Hasty was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Monday, Nov. 19

City of Clayton

CL18-2097: Police responded to Casey’s General Store on an employee theft. The employee was caught stealing $200 from a cash bin located in the manager’s office. Anthony D. Williams, 27, of Dayton 45417, was charged with theft. Charges were forwarded to Vandalia Municipal Court.
