Dayton man indicted for vehicular homicide


Crash claimed the life of Englewood resident

DAYTON — Prosecuting Attorney Mat Heck, Jr. announced Tuesday that Jeffrey A. Evans, 53, of Dayton, has been indicted for vehicular homicide in connection to a fatal crash that killed Perry Kreider, 67, of Englewood.

On July 27, 2016 Evans was traveling on Northbound I-75 near Moraine. Evans, who at the time was driving a commercial dump truck, failed to stop for traffic which was slowing down due to construction. Evans struck the back of Kreider’s 2012 Ford Fusion causing the fatal crash. He then attempted to flee the scene.

Tuesday, Evans was indicted on:

• Two counts of Vehicular Homicide

• One count of Failure To Stop After An Accident

Evans is currently at large and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
