Memorial Day ceremony set

CLAYTON — Saturday, May 27 at 10 a.m., American Legion Post 707 will be hosting the annual community Memorial Day Ceremonies at the Northmont High School football field memorial site, 4916 National Road in Clayton.

This year’s ceremonies will include the following:

  • Bag Pipes played by Chief Jim Michaels
  • Post Colors presented by Northmont Jr. ROTC and the American Legion Post 707 Color Guard
  • Flag Presentation by United States Army
  • National Anthem by Northmont Band & Encore under the direction of Brian Wissman
  • Opening address by Post 707 Commander Michael Blackwell
  • Memorial Day prayer by Post 707 Chaplain Phil Rivkin

  • Memorial Day poem by Northmont Jr. ROTC Lt. Col. Ken Knotts
  • Main address by United States Army Command Sgt. Major Michael White (retired)
  • Presentation of Wreath by United States Navy
  • Bag Pipes – Jim Michaels
  • Memorial Day songs Northmont Encore student singers
  • Closing prayer
  • Twenty One Gun Salute by Post 707 Honor Guard
  • Taps by Northmont band member

All community residents are encouraged to attend and pay tribute to all fallen Veterans and remember those who gave so much for us.
