CLAYTON — Kameron Gover scored 40 points Saturday to contribute to Northmont’s team total of 105.5 points to help the Thunderbolts dominate the boys team competition at the annual Jack Lintz Invitational.

The 4×200 meter relay team of Tyree Trammell, Gover, Xavier Marable and Amari Spears took 1st place in one minute, 32.65 seconds (1:32.65).

“The team scored over 100 points and Kameron led us with 40 of those points by winning the 100, 200 and as part of the winning 4×100 and 4×200 relay teams,” said Northmont Coach Tony Broering. “It’s easy to win meets when you have guys like Gover. When you have a kid like that who is all about the team first, that helps the team win because he gives all the credit to his teammates. When I asked him what his favorite part of today was, he said the relays. So he is that kind of a boy who was raised very well by his mom and dad. He has been with me for 4 years in the program and he ran varsity as a freshman. We knew back then that he was special and had the potential to be great and obviously you saw it today. He is really good.”

Also contributing to the victory was junior Gage Beireis who placed 4th in the 1600 meter run in 4:38.70 and 7th in the 800 meter run (2:07.72). Sophomore Drake Hickman placed 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles at 42.39 seconds.
