LEXINGTON, KY — On Saturday, October 29, the Academic Challenge team traveled to Lexington, Kentucky, to compete in the 32 team UK Fall Tournament.

Northmont played shorthanded (three against teams of four) after a player overslept and missed the departure time. The team posted a perfect 5-0 preliminary record, and then had to come from 200 points down to win the first playoff game before winning four more games to claim the tournament title.

Senior Kara Combs was the tournament’s highest scorer by over 50 points per game. The team is now qualified to three national tournaments again this year (Washington DC, Chicago and Atlanta in April, May and June).
