ENGLEWOOD — At approximately 10 a.m., while driving north on State Route 48 toward Englewood, a young man drove off the right side of the road and hit a power pole just past the Bolt’s Sports Café in the 900 block of S. Main St.

The driver was alone and uninjured. The Englewood Police Department blocked and redirected traffic around and away from the scene of the accident and the downed power lines on the road.

Power was knocked out in a large section of Englewood ranging from the location of the accident and affecting businesses as far away as Huntington National Bank at the corner of Union and W. Wenger roads. Police had to erect stop signs at the intersection of Taywood Road and State Route 48 due to the traffic signals not functioning.

Partial power was restored at 12:19 p.m. but was still out in other affected areas at 1:44 p.m.
