ENGLEWOOD — Wilma Schroeder, a member of the Randolph Township Historical Society, holds a coat her late husband, Karl Schroeder, wore during his service in the Korean War.

He was also an RTHS member, and she donated several items from his service to the Society after his death. The items are now displayed along with items from veterans of World War I and World War II at the History Center, 114 Valleyview Dr., Englewood.

The RTHS would like more memorabilia, including letters and diaries, from the Korean and Vietnam wars and the more recent wars in the Middle East. Oral histories, written or taped, by veterans or by their relatives on the home front are also welcome, and the Society can arrange to tape such recollections.

The Center is open to the public from 2 to 4 p.m. on the first and third Sundays of each month from April through October. Anyone is also welcome to attend the Society’s short business meetings on the second Wednesday of every month. They begin at 7 p.m. from April through October and at 1 p.m. November through March. Short programs on some aspect of history usually follow the meetings.

On Sept. 14, Brookville resident Rosina Belt will speak about her experiences as a refugee in Europe during and after World War II.

Call 832-1858 or 836-6314 for more details.
