CLAYTON — Citing sagging sales Tom Brandt, the new owner of Feller’s Greenhouse & Giftshop, said the business will close once the remaining inventory is sold.

Brandt said the doors would close for good within the next one or two weeks.

“Sales have gone down a lot,” Brandt said. “Sales have gone down dramatically and that’s the reason for the closing. I appreciate all the customers and I want to say thank you to the community and wish everyone well.”

Tracy and Diana Feller sold the business to Brandt in December 2015. The Feller family ran the business successfully for 44 years.

The business consists of a store facing Taywood Road and several greenhouses, a metal pole barn and a house that sits at the corner of Taywood and Westbrook roads. The property consists of between 1.5 and 2 acres of land.

Brandt said some customers have suggested that the business could be converted to a drive through or restaurant, but he has no plans to pursue either angle.

Tracy and Diana Feller were longtime community supporters and were instrumental in promoting a “shop local” mentality.
